Green, Purple, Blue Stars and Stripes

Hello  I am really liking this cute little card that I made for a challenge at Birthday Sundaes. birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com The challenge is to make a Birthday card that has stars and stripes.  I knew I wanted to make a shaped card from the Wid Card Cartridge and that I wanted the candle to be stars.  For the stars I used a cupcake topper from "Cupcake Wrappers"  I tried to weld the two cuts with my gypsy but it didn't work out. Aileenes Tacky Glue has always been one of my faves.  I use it with a fine paintbrush for small cuts.  I was thrilled when I saw it in pen form. No more paintbrushes to clean.

Gossip

I made a card for MAG challenge by the page.http://magchallengebythepage.blogspot.com/  For this challenge the only cuts you can you are page  of the Paisley cartridge.  Which consists of a mushroom, a heart and the word "Gossip"  I wanted to do something hi-tech with a DCWV paper pad, but changed my mind when I saw these K&Company Stickers.  Birds, tweeting, gossip..Even though I have no clue on how to tweet I thought this was a cute idea.
All of the patterned paper and stickers are K&Company.  The birds are part of a border that I cut up.  I love this "Poppyseed" collection so much that I keep adding to it.  The solid paper is DCWV adhesive mat stack.  I used my Cricut with the "Paisley" cartridge to cut "gossip" at 1.50" I went around the edges with a stamp from G Studio.  The scalloped square is a  Marvy Uchida punch.  I used ATG for adhesive.

COFFEE CARD

I have wanted to try a center easel card for a while.  I also wanted to do a coffee or tea card.  Yesterday when i was at Ross they had the DCWV "Latte" matstack for $2.99.  I immediately kne what I wanted to make.  I already had the matching solid stack.  For directions on how to make the base card visit SSplitcoast Stampers  They have so many awesome tutorials. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/centerstepcard/
The base paper is Recollections kraft cardstock.  All of the other papers are DCWV Latte Mat stack.  I cut the coffee sup at 3.47" using my Cricut and Gypsy.  The sentiment (Your kindness warms my heart) and coffee bean border are from Fiskars"Latte Love".  I used Recollection pop dots and ATG tape gun, and Aileene's Clear Tacky Glue for adhesives
The photograph doesn't really show the dimension of the card.  And I tried really hard to minimize the shadows.

THROW BACK THURSDAY CHALLENGE

Hello,  I am feeling much better today, Still have aching fingertips, but a lot more energy.  Emma at Creative Time for Me http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ is having a "Cricutless Challenge"  She suggests using punches.  My punch collection is very limited.  So I decided to use stickers.  I made glitter paper with Sook Wang double sided tape and Crystal Glitter Ritz.  Then I added Silhouette bird stickers from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I colored in the birds with Martha Stewart Glitter Pens.  I made a 6X6" card using Colorbok cardstock.  The scalloped edge is a K&Company border that I cut in half.  The square sentiment says :smile"  It is from Heidi Snapp (Blog candy that I won from Lezlye at http://lezlyes.blogspot.com/)  The Ribbon is from Michaels Easter collection.  I used Recollection pop dots, ATG adhesives.  The stickers are K&Company.  I think this will make a fantastic anniversary card

OH WELL

I made a card for MAG challenge page.http://magchallengebythepage.blogspot.com/  But due to technical difficulty I didn't get it in in time.  I love the way it turned out.  I hope you do to. The Challenge was to use page 52 in the Pagoda cartridge handbook. I used the Kanji symbol on the page for the border.  I trimmed out the middle so it looked like a bow.  I cut the floral and the floral shift twice  at 4.06" and at 3.55" using my gypsy. The mat with "WOMAN" is the Kanji word cut at 4.53" I inked the outsides with chalk on the lower buds and used stickles on the top buds.I put Sook Wang double sided tape under "Woman" then used DeNami Design Lavendar Frost glitter on top.  The bright pink paper is Colorbok, which I ran thru my Cuttlebug using "Swiss Dots" I used Recollections pop dots, ATG and Aileenes Clear Gel glue for adhesives.  The little flower gem on the bow is nail art I found in my daughter's manicure kit. The card base is from Paper Source, glitter paper DCWV and all other paper is K & Company

I am going to send this to my daughter's friend who lost her mom to breast cancer last year.  It will be an encouragement card for the walk. Since I didn't enter this card into any challenges I decided to link it up at a linky part with the Craft Junkie  craftjunkietoo.com  See blinky on my sidebar

BOOM> CHICKA< BOOM

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head?  Ever since Easter when I cut my first chickie from "Create a Critter", I have had an old campfire, preschool song in my head. "Boom Chicka Boom"  I thought "I know there is a crd in there somewhere"  Finally I put the thought on to paper.  Only bad thing is I keep walking around the house singing.  I am entering this into two challenges.  First Scrappy Moms Stamps http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com The challenge is to use "Sweet Treats"  I have one of thier stamp sets "Amazing Animals"  that I use alot.  The stamps are terrific with fun sayings and fonts.  I also entered it into a challenge at Celebrate the Occasion, where the challenge is to use a birthday hat.  http://celebratetheoccasion.blogspot.com/

COLORED PENCILS

For the last few months I have been playing around with colored pencils.  I purchased a few digi-stamps.  Then I went through a collection of stamps that I haven't used for years.  My coloring was ok, but kind of streaky.  The Lucianna at http://dilsaverdesigns.blogspot.com/  did a fabulously detailed and informative set of 4 video tutorials on color pencils.  She also provided a sketch, called "Sara"  My sister, who passed away 8 years ago from the flesh-eating bacteria, was called Sara.  So this was extra special for me.  The technique that Lucianna explains, uses baby oil or another kind of artists oil.  When I had finished coloring the image, I decided to color the sentiment.  It looked uneven.  My daughter had taken my baby oil to the pool.(I know that is a terrible way to tan, I have lectured her many times)  So impatient me thought "Oh well its only a little area I'll try Olive Oil)  It worked fine but  my card smelled.  Then I realized I use Garlic Olive Oil.  Any way I hope you enjoy the card.

GOLFING FATHERS DAY CRAFT

I made this card for a friend to give to her husband.  She has been really busy lately and I hope I saved her a little time.  It is similar to the one I posted a few days ago.  Only her husband loves golf.  I had purchased some golf brads years ago when my Hubby was thinking of trying the sport.  He stuck to fishing.  I am entering this into Throwback Thursdays at " Creative Time For Me" http://www.creativetimeforme.com/search/label/Throwback%20Thursday  The challenge is to use bling and a Cricut Lite Cartridge.  I hope brads count as bling

EMBOSSED BIRTHDAY CARD_MONEY HOLDER

My son's friend had a party last week.  Upon talking to his mom I decided to give him some spending money for an upcoming vacation.  Robert, my son, always teases me about how girly my cards are.  So I made a soccer card, using our towns team colors.  I love the frame function  on "Sports mania".  I am entering this into "Birthday Sundaes"birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com  The challenge is to use embossing on a birthday card.  I used Cuttlebug with the "Birthday" folder.  All of the paper I used is Recollections 8.5X11.  The Soccer ball ribbon is from Walmart.  I'm not quite sure where I got the felt balls.  I used a metallic green paper clip with a pop dot (Recollections)on each side, then stuck the balls together over the dots.

Kitty Cat Card

Well this card really stumped  me.  A friend asked me to make a Kitty Gift Card Holder.  I tried several cuts on my Cricut, they all turned out funky.  I wasn't happy at all.  The layers didn't look right and the faces  Then when I cut the base, it looked like "Disco Kitty"

The next morning I had a new vision and I love the way it turned out.  I can always depend on a Child;s Year " for great cards.'
