PRAYERS FOR AUBREY'S FAMILY

When my kids were little I had a young girl, Debbie help me with them.  She became the most amazing babysitter.  She is now a mother of three beautiful children.  Last week she lost her little angel Aubrey to a brain tumor. Aubrey was almost two and she fought cancer for almost a year.  I made these cards for Debbie and her mother.  Gold is the pediatric cancer ribbon color.
The base of this first card is an Anna Griffin base.  I cut the Anna Griffin centerpiece twice on my Cricut Explore.  The beautiful ribbon is St. Tropez Gold by DL.ART.  The ribbon charm is from Michaels.

All of the papers on this card are Core'dinations.  The base  and bird were cut on my Cricut using Anna Griffin Elegant Embellishments.  I embossed the center matt with an Anna Griffin embossing folder.

FLORAL SYMPATHY CARD

I needed a quick sympathy card.  An old family friend passed away on Friday.  I looked through some images that I had colored a long time ago.  I don't know what digital company they are from.  I embossed some white Core'dinations cardstock.  Then I cut an oval of gold Colorbok cardstock using a Die Versions die.  The sentiment motif was cut with a Spellbinders die.  The recollections sentiment was embossed with silver powder by Paper Source.

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS

This past weekend I had to make 5 sympathy cards.  A good friend of my husbands family passed away from breast cancer.  She was only 42.  I will miss her very much.  She was a great crafter.  Every holiday she made something cute, usually with candy in it.  My husband and I also had a few friends whose parents passed a way.  Here are a few of them

The papers are DCWV and K&Company.  I used spellbinders for the die cuts.  The center card is made from a punch out pad by Colorbok.  The Thoughts and Prayers stamp is from Unity.  The Sympathy stamp is from G Stamp.  The ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.

Favorite Thing Damask Decor

page21 5.12"

Damask Decor is my favorite cartridge.  I had it for a while before I really appreciated it for all of the functions.  It is a great cartridge to use when you need a quick card.  I needed two sympathy cards.  The card function has many cuts that have a space to put a sentiment.  They also have envelopes.  I cut a bunch of different cards yesterday and  made two sympathy cards, in about 20 minutes.  I also love this cart because it has seasonal cuts on it too.  There are not two many layers and there is a lot of open space where you can use fun glitter papers or emboss the under layer.  There is also a fun tag function.  Karen at Little Scrap Pieces is having a "Favorite Things" challenge.  check it out CLICK HERE

A Child's Year for a Friend Who lost Her Dog

My friend, Casey, Lost her dog on Easter Sunday.  Bailey was a beautiful, sweet Manchester Terrier whose heart gave out.  I went back and forth on what kind of card to make.  when our children were younger, Casey and I went camping a lot and Bailey would follow the kids around.  My son was a baby and we would put him in the playpen with Bailey.
My son was really being a pain last night, I had completed the center portion and was sitting at my table about to stamp the sentiment when I got hit in the arm with a ball.  It only affected the "G" So I didn't redo it. You gotta love 13 year old boys who think they are so funny.

About Challenges-A couple week ago I found myself making cards for challenges and cards that would fit into many challenges.  I started to loose focus.  And I decided to go about it diferently.  Now I write down all of the challenges as I read thru blogs.  Then I decide what kind of card I want to make, make the card and find a challenge to fit the card.  I use these challenges to grow as a designer so I will probably only enter a card into 1 or 2 challenges.

I see that CCCC-Cricut-Cartridge-Chaos-Challenge is  having a challenge using "A Child's Year"  http://twoscraptasticgals.blogspot.com/2011/04/cricut-cartridge-chaos-challenge-15.html
