FCCB MOTHERS DAY 2ND ENTRY
Yesterday I posted a card that one of the boys I watch designed for his mother. His younger brother had a harder time coming up with a concept. He finally decided on tea. His mom loves Chai and she makes the best tea ever. For this project I used the Cricut cartridge "Love You A Latte" The papers are DCWV "Taj Mahal" and the Denim Stack. I like the contrast of the shiny papers with the denim. I am entering this into the FCCB BLOG HOP AND MOTHERS DAY CHALLENGE

I began the card by cutting the sunglasses with my Cricut using Forever Young. The sentiment is from the Florals Embellished cartridge. The sun is an foil embellishment that I got a long time ago at a calligraphy store in Berkeley.

2 New Favorites
I am really liking the "word" feature on the Pagoda cartridge. This is the 2nd mothers day card I have made. There are lots of great card cuts with a word on the bottom. Some include-friend, daughter, happiness and love to name a few. If you are like me you will barely be able to see the image in the handbook, unless you bring out the strong reading glasses. Now my second new favorite is the "Lemon Flower Stack" and matching plain Matstack from DCWV. I don't usually use a lot of yellow and green in my projects. I like the color combos in this pack so much that I am thinking of redecorating my studio. I love this cut from "A Child's Year" My I have 2 girls and a boy. My youngest daughter always wore a funny little ponny tail on top of her head and my oldest daughter had her hair like the middle child. My mom is going to love this card Also in my family there were three of us. Me, my brother and sister. Sadly, my sister passed away 8 years ago. I know this will remind my mom of when we were little
FORMULA

I searched to see if there was another challenge using a Mothers Day card. I already submitted one card to FCCB. So I am entering this one into Celebrate the Occasion celebratetheoccasion.blogspot.com

Japanese themed Mothers Day Card for My Sister-In-Law
I have been wanting to use the Pagoda cartridge for a long time, but I didn't know what the Kanji symbols meant until I put my reading glasses on and was able to read the very small print at the bottom of Kanji word section. So I decided to make the card using the word as the card base and the tag for the center Later in the week I am going to use the same card base in bright colors with flowers or animals.
It is hard to see the mono chromatic effect of the center crane. It is a very glittery crane on white cardstock.
FORMULA
Cut English word "MOTHER" at 8" using black textured Colorbok cardstock (page 60 of Cricut Pagoda Cartridge)Cut crane tag 3 times at 2"(pg40)
Back word with sticky tape(Sookwang) Add glitter(Crystal Glitter Ritz) Do same to tags using Martha Stewart Red glitter for two outer images and clear for center
Add Ribbon(Michaels) using ATG tape
Adhere cranes to card
