Art Impressions are having a Create Your Own Back Ground Challenge. For this challenge I used the "Big Birthday Wishes" set that is available atMichaels. I began by stamping the cup cake image randomly on a piece of water color paper. Then I water colored stripes, around the cupcakes. I swiped Marvy markers on my palette, and applied them to my project with water and a brush.I colored the cupcakes with markers too. I stamped the main image using Stayz On ink, then I watercolored it and cut around it. I put the image on an Action Wobble and attached it to my base. The base was then adhered to a piece of Anna Griffin ombre card stock. I water colored the sentiment and cut it out, then that was attached to the base with pop dots.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN
Have you tried out the Tim Holtz Oxide inks. They are so much fun to play with. I made this background by putting swishes of color on my palette then I smooshed my wet water color paper on the palette. I accidentally picked up some pink and yellow that was already on the palette. Then I sprayed some water. This made the perfect background for the new Art Impressions Stamp "Road Trip". I picked up 2 new sets of AI stamps from Michaels. The green on the car is Tim Holtz Distress Oxied-Pistachio. It gives a vintage look to the old car.
I distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz distressing tool and Inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide-Broken China. I also distressed the matt and edged with Marvy Marker-Bright Yellow.

COLORFUL BEACH COTTAGES
I got my inspiration for this card from a Water color Wednesday You Tube Video by Art Impressions. The subject was "Beach Row Houses" My second inspiration was a hotel in Capitola, Ca that has brightly painted cottages. I didn't have the exact stamps that Bonnie used in the video. What I love about these tutorials is that you can easily substitute like stamps. I used the cottage from Watercolor Series 8 Set2. I did a lot of masking so only the front of the 2nd and 3rd cottages show. The image ended up being sort of long so I made a long narrow card. I distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distressing tool, then inked them with a Bright Yellow Marvy Pen. To add to the beachy, distressed look, I mounted the image on cork paper.

SCOOTER IN A SKETCH
Hello, I love the new The Adventure Begins die and stamp set by My Creative Time. It has 2 scooters and balloon, flowers and presents to put on the back. I had colored a bunch of them, cut them out, then they sat on my desk for a 2 weeks. When I saw the current Die Cutting Divas Sketch Challenge, I knew it would be perfect for the scooter. The fun pink scooter paper is Doodlebug "Spring Garden".
