POPTARTS

The other day I saw the cutest Poptart ad.  It was grey penguins who got sprinkled with sprinkles and became decorated with pink. Then I remembered I had the perfect stamp from "Scrappy Moms"http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com/ "Sending You Sprinkles of Fun"Here is my interpretation.  I used Snow Tech and Miceobeads to make the poptart frosting on the side.

Purple and Green, Non Halloween, Card

Cooking with Cricut CWC is having a purple and green challenge with sketches for a card or layouts.  They suggested making a card for Mother in Law Day.  Unfortunately my beautiful MIL passed away 5 years ago.  So I made a card for my daughter who needs cheering up.  She is away in Arizona at school and she got in a car accident.  She is ok, but shaken up.  It's hard when they are far away.  I am on my second pad of K&Company's Poppyseed collection.  The borders and stickers are so pretty

MAG CHALLENGE #49 WRAP IT UP PAGE 47

Happy Friday.  Can you believe MAG Challenge by the page is almost a year old.  We are celebrating on Sunday with a "Birthday Blog Hop"  I hope you can hop with us.
This weeks Challenge is to use page 47 of the "Wrap It Up" Cartridge.  Be sure to visit the MAG page magchallengebythepage.blogspot.com, to see what the talented designers came up with. This is  a fun cartridge which has Phrases, tags, boxes and card features for all occasions. Please remember for this challenge you cannot use any other Cricut cartridge, page or cut from another cartridge (even if it is in your stash).  Only use cuts from the specified page.  However use any embellishments...  stamps, bling, stickers etc.
I have two children graduating this year.  One from ASU and one from middle school.  Can you believe my son's school is called PMS.  It is the brunt of many jokes.  I decided to make a 12X12 layout to frame.   I used the layer on the box function for the curved frame
FORMUL
Papers:DCWV; Recollections (I'm not sure what the plaid is)
Cricut:"Wrap it Up"  Frames 15.75 and 16.25; sentiment 2.18  (I didn't want the background to show so I hid all of the inside cuts on the red layer with my gypsy)
Stickers:K&Comapany;EK Success
Pen:Sakura
Adhesives:Aileene's Clear Tacky glue;ATG

OWL BIRTHDAY EASEL CARD

I made what I thought was going to be a quick card, until I stamped the sentiment on and it smeared all over the frame.  No worries, I just cut another frame and layered it.  I took a while to size and position it just right.  Lesson learned...stamp the sentiment on separate paper or at the beginning of a project.  For the moon, I took a piece of dimensional tape and twisted crinkle ribbon onto it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT

Today is my son's 14th birthday.  I couldn't decide what  kind of card to make for him.  Then I was inspired by two challenges.  Peachy Keene has a sketch with a twist-you have to use twine or embroidery floss.  And Celebrate the Occasion  has a Ribbon challenge.  Although this looks like a simple card I had a lot of problems with adhering the ribbon and floss.  (The soccer background is ribbon) I don't have any twine, so I loosely braided three strands of embroidery floss.
