RECYCLED INTERIOR DESIGN SAMPLES

A few days ago my brother in law who is an interior designer asked me if I would like some old sample books.  Of course, I said yes.  Little did I know it would be a whole trunk full of linoleum, vinyl, wallpaper and tile samples.  The first thing I made was an easel card using a vinyl wall paper .  It is very thick. It is a metallic silver grey.  The bottom of the card is a darker grey
MATERIALS
silver cardstock, white pearl cardstock and black textured -colorbok
white, red and yellow card stock-recollections-Michaels
Cricut Lite Dude cartridge
stamp-Studio G(Michaels $1 bin) with Studio G white chalk ink
ATG tape gun
Aileens Clear Gel Tacky Glue
Wallpaper sample-ARC-COM
ribbon-Celebrate it-Basic Basic, Michaels
DIRECTIONS
Cut 6X12" piece of silver card stock for card base.  score at 6" and 9"
cut two pieces of vinyl 5X2 and one 5X6
position card vertically so that 6"portion is facing you. Adhere 2" strip pf vinyl to bottom-this will hold easel up.  Make mountain fold at 9" and adhere front of card (5X6" piece of vinyl)
Cut snow boarder on cricut twice at 2". cut "extreme" at 1"(there are 3 layers) cut mountains at 1.5 and 1.25 to add dimension
Embellish with ribbon and sentiment

BBTB2 and FBCC Challenges

DIRECTIONS
Make a 6" square card out of yellow green cardstockAdhere 5" square of decorative paper to center front.  Adhere ribbon to bottom(I used 3 layers) Stamp center bottom right above ribbon
Cut image from (A Child's Year pg38) black cardstock at 2.25" Cut flower(Storybook pg 36) at 3.5" and circle(Storybook pg.38) at 4" Assemble as shown

FLAUNT IT FRIDAYS CHALLENGE-FOREVER YOUNG IMAGE

I made this card for a challenge at www.http://flauntitfridays.blogspot.com  the challenge was to use the model1 emblem silhouette on p.24 of the forever young cartridge
MATERIALS
Textured cardstock black-colorbok
DCWV-glitter mat stack-blue, green
DCWV-All Dressed Up Matstack-Green and blue with black border
K&Company gems
Celebrate it "Fit to be Tied"ribbon
cricut Forever Young
ATG gun
3 dimensional tape
DIRECTIONS
Cut6X12' piece of black cardstock, fold in half,  for base of card.
cut a 1X6.5"strip of both green and blue glitter paper, adhere strip on each side of decorative mat(4.5X6.5)so .5"shows on each side.  Adhere completed piece to top of card.
Cut image on p.24 of Forever Young at 2.5".  I used multiple cut set at 2 for glitter paper,  I cut the back ground twice once in black at 2.75 and once in green at 2.5  Adhere the smaller green oval to the larger black oval as shown,Attach silhouette with dimensional tape.
Cut the word "stylish" at 1" (p.59) I cut the top layer in green glitter and the bottom in blue
Apply three layers of ribbon to bottom of card.  Center sentiment on top of ribbon with dimensional tape.
Decorate with gems.

SIDESTEP CARDS


I made five cards for a birthday party.  I had the base of the cards made and most of the cricut embellishments cut.  I was planning on assembling the cards between my sons soccer games.  Unfortunately he was kicked in the shin and we spent most of the afternoon in the ER. Today the doctor called and wanted to re xray, the radiologist saw something on his ankle.  We are pretty sure he has a fractured ankle and go to see an orthopedic tomorrow.  Since I ran out of time one of the cards is made out of stickers.  Here are the sidestep cards. I made another one with snowboards and mountains but forgot to take a picture of it.  Tomorrow I will post an easel snowboarding card. 
MATERIALS
DCWV Black damask stiped paper -(Black Currant paper stack)
pink,black , white,red,  green cardstock(recollections-Michaels)
pink gems-Recollections-Michaels
Cricut Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge
Cuttlebug with Divine swirls folder
Recollection dimensional stickers-bees and lady bugs
K and Co butterfly and flower stickers and pink border

Martha Stewart scoreboard
DIRECTION(for bottom card, I made one each direction the first one I made upsidedown )
Cut black striped card stock to 6X12"
line 6" edge up on score pad find groove that is 2" over, cut from 3" to 11"
turn so card is horizontal on score pad, score from outside edge to cut line at 1",2",4".  At  6" score all the way across center of card.  Then to cut line at 9".  fold at score lines
Decorate the sides and folds.
Hello Kitty embellishments are cut at 2" I embossed the flower using Cuttlebug with Divine Swirls Folder
The butterfly and flower card is all stickers except for the flower stem that is DCWV glitter paper

ANOTHER SPRING CARD

Here is another card very similar to the last post.  Only this time the base card is made from a pink pearlized paper by Paper Pizzaz and the image is on p63   of Child's Year.  The stamp is from Stampology.  I also used a K & Company orange border under the frame.  Everything else is the same

well another week has flown by.  I have been busy working and crafting.  My projects are all in various stages of completion.  I have alot of birthday cards to deliver his month.  This one is to one of my best friends.  There is a group of 6 of us who have been meeting for coffe for the last 18 years.  Unfortunately, I had to work during the "Coffee Mommas" breakfast.  Hope you enjoy this cheerful card

Yellow cardstock-Colorbok

DIRECTIONS
fold 7"X10" piece of yellow cardstock in half to form card
Adhere 6.75X4.75" piece of black testured cardstock to center of card
center yellow frame on piece of rose paper using 3M dimensional tape  Attach flower stickers to corners
Cut Cricut image on page 30 of "Child's Year" at 2.5"    Adhere to inside of frame
On yellow cardstock with green chalk ink stamp sentiment.  cut around it, then mount with dimensional tape to lower left corner of frame

INDIE HEART LIPS

MATERIALS
DCWV-Street Lace black and white circle card stock,
Paper Pizzaz Dusty Rose pearl
Colorbok-black textured paper
pink gems-$1.00 bin Michaels
3M dimensional 
DIRECTIONS
make card from 4.5"X12" piece of black and white cardstock
Cut lips and heart from  Cricut Indie cartridge at 2in.  I used glitter paper for top layer and pearl paper for bottom.  I popped out the bottom lip and the heart with dimensional tape.  I used ATG gun to adhere the rest of the embellishments.   Cut S W A K from Jubilee cartridge at 1.5" I put a pink gems between the letters

VALENTINES CARD FOR MY SON

I think I am almost done with valentines.  Here's a quick card and goody bag for an I-Tunes card for my13 year old son, Robert.  I used the Paisley cartridge which I got for $9.99 at Michaels

CARD
Cut 4"X8" strip of green patternedcardstock, fold in half
Attach 3"X3" square of red glitter paper to top of card
Using cricut Paisley cartridge cut frog at 2.5" I cut shadow in black,  main base in green glitter and tummy in light pink  using ATG gun adhere layers together add googlie eyes and foam heart
Adhere frog embellishment to card using 3 dimensional tape
 Stamp "true Love" on black paper with white ink, stick to bottom right corner of card
GOODY BAG
Using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cut heart bag at 6" tape sides together.  I mad bag flat didn;t use gussets.
Cut snail and bee at 1.5"  i amde base fo bee and snail yellow, snail shell-red glitter, flower on snail green glitter, bee lines-black, bee wings-white glitter
On my computer I wrote "bzz.. I'm buggy for you."  and punched sentiment out with scalloped punch

TREAT BAGS FOR MY DAUGHTER'S ROOMATES

It seems as if I have been working o care packages for my college daughters all week.  I made these treat bags for their roommates.  They each have three. This is the one time of the year that it's not to hot in Tempe to send chocolate. I'd better start on Easter soon.
MATERIALS

Cricut-Nifty Fifties and Tie the Knot Cartridge
Sakura white pen
Recollection gems
3M dimensional tape

DIRECTIONS
Using my Gypsy I welded two tags together from Tie the Knot cartridge.(3.25") Then I cut the heart at 2.5".  The cat is cut from the Nifty Fifties Cartridge at 2in. Fold tag in half horizontally and staple to filled bag.(Put staple where embellishment will hide it. Attach embellishment to tag using dimensional tape. Decorate tag with white pen and black gems.

VALENTINES-Finally getting around to other daughter

I can't believe it has been over a week since my last post.  Hopefully I'll have a few this week.  It seems as if I spend more time reading blogs than crafting...It's so addicting then poof it's time to pick-up at school. My first post is similar to the last one except it is for my younger daughter who goes to Cal State Fullerton.  I also made her a treat box for Mac perfume and a matching card.
MATERIALS
DCWV-Black Currant cardstock
Colorbok-black, pink and white cardstock
Cuttlebug with Once upon A Princess rose embossing folder
Cricut Hello Kitty Greetings, Tie the Knot  and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridges
Martha Stewart Valentine borders
Offray ribbon-black with pink dots
ATG glue gun
INSTRUCTIONS
CARD 
Cut 6X12" piece of black circle paper, score at 3" and 9", fold toward center . Line inside of card with a 6"X6" square of pink embossed card stock.  For front piece cut 3.5" square from rose paper, layer on top of 4"X4" square of silver paper, then on 4.75"X4.75" square of light pink textured cardstock.(Decorative cardstock is from DCWV-Black Currant, silver is Colorbok)
Using Tie the Knot cartridge cut heart at cut heart 2.5 in, I embossed the bottom layer with Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder.  Using dimensional tape attach heart to center of 3-layer square.  Using ATG gun adhere square to left-hand flap of card.  For the sentiment, I cut apart a Martha Stewart Valentine border. 
GIFT BAG
Using Tags,Bags, Boxes and More cut bag at 6" from black cardstock(Colorbok)Emboss front of bag using rose folder from Once Upon a Princess cartridge.  Cut Kitty with heart from Hello Kitty greetings at 2" Using dimensional tape add kitty to front of bag.  Use ribbon to secure top of bag.

ANNIVERSARY CARD

Hello, My anniversary is coming up on the 17th.  I saw that CCCC was having a challenge using Nifty Fifties cartridge. Which is one of my new favorites.  Of course I love anything with poodles on it.  There are so many unusual cuts on this carts.  For my card to him I am going to use the Fish cut(He loves fishing and I just got a new stamp set that says"Best Fishes") I have been using a lot of pre-made cards that I got for a steal at Paper Source.
MATERIALS
5X7" silver card(Paper Source-clearance)
3X5" scalloped card(Paper Source-clearance)
4.5 X6"Black glitter paper-DCWV-Midnight Spell

light and dark pink glitter paper (DCWV)
black cardstock-Colorbok
4 X 5.5" Pink gingham paper Paper Pizazz
Martha Stewart valentines border(Amore)
Pink pom-pom ribbon-Walmart

Cricut "Nifty Fifties" cartridge
DIRECTIONS
1. centering papers layer silver scalloped paper onto gingham paper onto black glitter paper then center on card. I used ATG gun for this.
2. Cut poodle at 3in.  Base is black,  Layer 1-dark pink glitter, layer 1-s light pink glitter. ( page 29)     Adhere layers. I used ATG gun for adhering dark pink to black, then dimensional tape to add light pink.
3.Embellish leash with white sakura pen.  Attach poodle to center of card, using ATG gun.
4.Cut "Amore" from Martha Stewart border and adhere it to black circle, then to lower right corner of card using dimensional tape.  Decorate upper right and lower left corners with gems.
5.Add pom-pom ribbon to top using ATG gun.
